Artist’s Bio

Sacha Colvin:

Sacha Colvin (B.1952) in Fayette, Missouri (USA) currently residing in Gladstone, Missouri (USA) is a contemporary artist known for her colorful landscape oil paintings using a bold abstract palette, exploring the natural landscape or memories of a landscape characterized by representational forms, exploring the landscape’s influence on the inner landscape, a dynamic thought-provoking visual experience that conveys an emotional depth of silent and poetic presence.

The artist pours thin washes of paint over opaque passages of oil paint, tilting the canvas and discovers the landscape within, adding daubs of color mixed by scraping the colors to blend them overlaid with thin or thick passages of paint. Colvin’s subjects are sea cliffs, water, boats, mountains, desert, fields, lone figure, incorporating her personal motifs.
